Meet the Thor Precision Team
Andy co-founded Thor Precision with his father Paul in 2009. Thor initially started as a consulting firm to the gas turbine industry. After numerous successful projects, Andy and his father decided to open their own facility in Greenville, SC, bringing the aftermarket a much-needed high quality rotor bolting supplier. Andy became President of Thor in 2023 after a 15-year career focused on learning the unique manufacturing processes for rotor bolting. Andy has deep experience in CNC lathe and mill programming and operation as well as highly-technical roll threading procedures. He currently serves as President of Thor Precision where he oversees all operations of the business. Andy graduated from the University of South Carolina and is an avid Gamecocks fan.
Ben currently serves as the Vice President of Finance for Thor Precision where he oversees all aspects of accounting, finance, and HR. Ben has spent most of his 25-year career at manufacturing and industrial services businesses where he has held positions including CFO, Controller, Plant Director and Division Manager. Ben’s diverse experience includes virtually all aspects of the business ranging from operations to accounting and HR. Ben passed the CPA exam and has earned both an undergraduate degree in accounting and an M.B.A.
Homer has had over 31 years of experience in machining of precision parts on assorted materials including Inconel. He is highly skilled in operations of CNC lathes, thread rolling, mills, and grinding. He has been with the company since 2014 and is currently responsible for manufacturing operations.
Jeff has been with Thor since 2019 in the quality assurance and control department. He has another seven years in the quality assurance role, with an additional 21 years in product and process engineering. Jeff is also a Marine veteran and a Six Sigma Blackbelt. In his position here, Jeff ensures Thor’s production processes are upheld and effective in providing safe and reliable products to the customer. Jeff’s dedication and attention to detail have resulted in Thor successfully achieving and maintaining DSQR status.
History of Thor Precision
Thor Precision, Inc. began production as a family business in 2009, supplying industrial gas turbine aftermarket parts for customers around the world. Over time, their reputation for quality manufacturing attracted new customers from different markets.
In 2017, Thor Precision enhanced its capabilities to produce engine and structural parts for the aerospace and defense industry. Thor Precision achieved ISO9001 certification, installed multi-axis machining capabilities, and enhanced its ERP system with 3D CAD software to design and produce the complex parts and assemblies it’s known for today.
Thor maintains its own Intellectual Property (IP) relative to part design, raw material, surface treatment (shot peen, plating, etc.) and Testing (NDT, Mechanical Testing, etc.), and maintains an extensive inventory of parts and kits with complete traceability documentation.
